Mar Sebastian Kallupura, Chairman, Caritas India and Archbishop of the Diocese of Patna, formally inaugurated the housing project jointly implemented by Wayanad Social Service Society and Biowin Agro Research on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the Diocese of Mananthavady. A total of 52 houses will be constructed under the Golden Jubilee Housing Scheme. The construction of the 500 sq ft houses at a cost of `07 lakh will be completed by April 2022. Mananthavady Diocese Vicar General Msgr. Paul Mundolikal presided over the function. Caritas India Executive Director Rev. Dr. Paul Moonjeli delivered the keynote address. Wayanad Social Service Society Executive Director Rev. Fr. Paul Koottala, Biowin Agro Research Managing Director Rev. Fr. John Choorappuzhayil, Associate Director; Fr. Jinoj Palathadathil, Program Officer Jose P.A were made the felicitation.
As part of the Golden Jubilee of the Diocese of Mananthavady, work was started to build houses for poor families from different parts of the Diocese. Out of 280 applications received from various parishes in the diocese, housing is being provided to the 52 most deserving families. Wayanad Social Service Society, Biowin Agro Research Center and Save a Family Plan are financially supporting the initiative. The first installment of Rs. 1.5 lakh has been received by 50 beneficiaries. Out of this, 22 families completed the second phase and received the second installment of Rs. 1.5 lakhs. The rest of the families are speeding up their housing activities
